Bick’s began as a pickle brand in 1951 on a family farm in Scarborough, Ontario. George and Lena Bick, along with their sons, started bottling cucumbers grown on their own land. What started as a small family business quickly found its place on Canadian tables. By 1960, the company had produced over 12 million jars. Through the years, the company stayed rooted in Ontario. Since 2011, Bick’s pickles are no longer made in Canada. The last Ontario facilities closed that year, and production shifted to plants in the United States.

Based in Ontario and run by a fourth-generation pickle maker, Marty’s Pickles hand-packs each jar using local cucumbers, fresh dill, and real garlic. Its secret ingredient is a spice blend that’s been passed down since Marty Strub’s great-grandmother. The pickles are naturally fermented and cured in wood barrels, then packed into mason jars by hand. Every product is Kosher certified. Best of all, Marty's Pickles are proudly Canadian. They are made with ingredients grown, cured, and packed in Ontario.

Van Holten’s Pickles started in 1898 as a family-run business in Wisconsin. These pickles have made their way into Canadian hands and lunchboxes with growing enthusiasm. The brand stands out due to its sheer creativity. They have turned pickles into freezer pops, mixer shots, and mash-ups with brands like Warheads, Tapatio, and Pringles. Some flavours, like Sour Sis and Blue Raspberry, lean into the wild side of snacking. Others keep things simple and salty, staying true to that vinegary crunch people grew up with.

Claussen Pickles has carved out a strong following in Canada, thanks to a recipe that feels simple but carries weight. The company’s story begins with Claus Claussen, whose early brining techniques created a pickle that still feels ahead of its time. Since then, the name has stayed tied to quality. Claussen is often talked about as a top pickle brand for people who care about the small details. The way a pickle should sound, how it should hold together, and how it lingers in the best way.
